Ponadto doslownie kazdy uliczny sprzedawca owocow, smazonych pierogow itd. oferuje tez minutos czyli rozmowy ze swojej prywatnej komorki (na komorke i stacjonarne). Widzielismy mase biznesow, gdzie laczono branze zupelnie przypadkowo, np. uslugi fotograficzne z laboratorium analiz lekarskich i testami ciazowymi. To tyle.
To conclude the Colombia trip, here are some miscellaneous comments, from the she-moose this time. Colombian motor industry curiosities include the "hechiso" brand or cars assembled from real car parts.In particular, a lot of buses are made this way and they often have quite imaginative logos of their own:-) Talking about self-made motor products, many buses are also equipped with reversing sensor but don´t expect a simple beeper. Last time we heard one it was Lambada! Another thing we already mention is the compulsory speed counter displayed so that every passanger can see it. When we saw one that actually worked, rather than show zero or P5, we just had to film it. Still, we realized we were going much faster than it was showing :-)It was only once that we came across a counter that was showing the real speed and once we exceeded 80 km/h it started beeping.
We already wrote about the oh so noisy vendors getting on the bus to sell their stuff, but one guy topped them all. On the way to Popayan, a guy gave us an Amway-style half an hour demonstration of tooth whitening drops. When he was done talking, he appointed a volunteer and told him to wash his mouth with it. The drops were transparent but when the poor guy spit it out it was all rusty. We felt sorry for him, hope his teeth didn´t disolve altogether by now. And there were some buyers, although the test subject was not among them. The funny thing is the seller was actually the transport company´s employee. This is yet another example of Colombians´versatility. Apart from that, every fruit or snack seller offers minutos that is calls from his or her private cell phone (to other cell phones or land lines). We saw a bunch of businesses where services provided were quite a haphazard combination, e.g. like a photo shop which also delivered blood analyses and pregnancy tests. Over and out.
